Just in time for the holidays, we are proud to present our second installment in our "Heroes of Preservation" seriesThis month takes us to Dayton, Ohio where we meet Joe Williams, the owner of 10 Wilmington Place. 10 Wilmington Place is a senior housing/ retirement community based inside the former Dayton State Hospital.When asked what the community response was to his redevelopment of the former state hospital, he responded: "We’ve been in operation for nearly 35 years and the support has been tremendous. Everyone in Dayton knows of our building and campus. An amazing journey indeed. To be one of the few remaining glorious Kirkbride asylums to have survived demolition attempts and drastic changes in mental health care.
